Guide Jean greatly enhanced our visit to Bangkok. We had just two days in the city—arriving at 11 a.m. on the first day and departing at 4:30 p.m. the next—so we wanted to see as much as possible in a limited time.
Jean, from Your Thai Guide, organized everything so efficiently that we saw all the places we had hoped to visit. We sent him a list of historical sites in advance, but made the final plan after meeting him at our hotel, where he was already waiting when we arrived.
Jean’s knowledge of each site was excellent, and his English made everything clear and easy. We traveled using local transport—canal boats, tuk-tuks, and taxis—which added to the experience. Some companies had suggested we hire a private car, but we’re glad we didn’t take that advice.
Bangkok’s traffic is extremely congested. Therefore, traveling only by car would have wasted a lot of time. With Jean, we moved efficiently and avoided traffic where possible. In addition, we never worried about being overcharged or detoured to unwanted stops. Jean helped us stick to exactly what interested us and suggested the best route to cover everything.
At the Royal Palace, even though it was crowded from the moment it opened, Jean bought our tickets quickly through a special guide queue. That saved us a long wait. He also brought us to clean, budget-friendly lunch spots and helped us choose local dishes with confidence.
Thanks to Jean, we had a far deeper and more enjoyable experience than we could have managed on our own. We visited four major sites each day without feeling rushed. Our cruise ship docked for two nights at Laem Chabang Port, which is two to three hours from Bangkok.
We didn’t use Your Thai Guide for the port transfer—only because we didn’t know they offered that service. Future travelers may want to look into that option for added convenience.
