My name is Jean, you know, as in the trousers. I still remember the day I made the decision to be a private tour guide, it was before the university entrance exam in twelfth grade. There was a study group for Social Studies and I was responsible for tutoring my friends. It seems like I should have been stressed and anxious since the most important exam in my life was just around the corner. However, I used the opportunity to have fun, sharing my knowledge of Thailand and enjoying myself. I knew right then that I should work to become a tour guide.
I am happy to say that I have been a tour guide for many years now, having visited hundreds, if not thousands, of temples, palaces and markets throughout Thailand. I have had the chance to meet uncountable numbers of people, sharing what I know about my country and listening to their stories. I find my work today just as satisfying and fulfilling as the day I sat at the table in twelfth grade and tutored my friends. I would love to be your private tour guide and help make your holiday in Thailand an everlasting memory.
I like those clients that ask a lot of questions. I have met many guides that get irritated if customers ask questions, but I like those kind of clients very much. - Jean
Book a tour with me if:
- You are drawn to ornate temples
- You want to see the splendor of Bangkok palaces
- You are energized by chaotic yet charming floating markets
- You seek to learn about the glorious fallen ruins of Ayutthaya
- You need to visit the memorable bridge on the river Kwai
Let me tell you more about myself:
My life in Thailand
I was born in Nakhon Sawan, 3 hours north of Bangkok, about half way to Chiang Mai. I came to Bangkok to study in university and have been here ever since. I have been living in Bangkok for 15 years.
My own travel experience
I have been to many provinces of Thailand and I have also visited neighboring countries in Asia. One of my most recent trips was to Cambodia, where I visited the border markets at Rong Kluea and Poipet.
My professional experience
I graduated from University in Bangkok in 2007 and got my tour guide license shortly after. I have been a tour guide now for more than ten years and my experience has grown in many ways. I know I am professional but maybe that means I am a little too serious. I know very well that I’m not a funny guy but I’m glad and more than willing to show and explain everything my guests want to know, answering each and every question. I do my best to make any request possible and try my best to make every trip easy and comfortable.
My personal goals & Interests
My dream trip would be to travel across the Great Plains, riding the Trans-Siberian train. I would also like to visit Hohenzollern Castle.
Please feel free to contact us and together we can create a personalized itinerary for your amazing trip to Thailand. Jean is available 7 days a week from US$104 for you to 8 hours as a tour guide in and around the Bangkok area.

Guide Jean was early when collecting us from our hotel. We decided to walk rather than use a taxi, to see more of the city.
Jean helped us with the skytrain and the water taxis so that we felt comfortable and able to travel around the city. Jean took us to all the sights we had requested and was a knowledgeable and cheery guide. He tailored the visits to our request and we were extremely happy with the tour. The booking through the office was perfect with regular contact.
Would definitely use again when seeing more of this beautiful country.

We only had a day to get an over view of Bangkok and Jean did a wonderful job introducing us to the city and the culture.
We took a taxi to the river and a wonderful river taxi ride to the area where the temples were.
Jean was very knowledgeable and spoke English well.
We walked a lot and took the subway back to the area where our guesthouse was.
We couldn’t have had a better day.

Jean was our tour guide and was very friendly and knowledgeable. He patiently answered all of our questions about anything, ranging from Thai history to his own experiences growing up in Thailand.
Jean added so much color and depth to the city, and we truly felt that it was money well spent!
I can easily recommend having Jean as a tour guide.

Guide Jean greatly enhanced our visit. We had two days in Bangkok, arriving at 11am on the first day and leaving at 4.30 the next, so we wanted to see as much as we could in a limited time.
Jean, of Your Thai Guide, organised our days so that we saw all that we wanted. We listed in advance all the places of historical interest that we wanted to visit, making final decisions on the day once we had met Jean, who was waiting for us on our arrival at the hotel.
Jean was very knowledgeable about all of the sights and his English was very good. We traveled using local transport: canal boats, tuk-tuks, and taxis. In our research for this trip, we did read advice from some companies that it was wise to hire a private car as well as a guide.
Traffic is extremely congested in Bangkok and we would have wasted a lot time if we had only traveled by car. We are very pleased that we hired our own guide. We were able to see just what interested us; the best order for visits was suggested; we didn’t waste any unnecessary time in traffic and didn’t have to be concerned about being overcharged by drivers and being taken to places we didn’t want to see.
At the Royal Palace, that was busy even as it opened, Jean was able to buy us tickets very quickly as he is an authorized guide, so we didn’t have to queue. Jean took us to very cheap, clean places for lunch and helped us with our choices.
There is no doubt that Jean enabled us to have a much richer experience in Bangkok than we would have had on our own. We visited four major sites on each day. We were on a cruise ship that spent two nights in Laem chang Port, which is 2-3 hours from Bangkok.
We didn’t use Your Thai Guides to provide our transfer as we didn’t know that the company provided this service, but other travelers might like to investigate this option.

Because of the professionalism and expertise of Guide Jean, we hired him again to give an introductory tour of Bangkok to a college student group.
He successfully led a group of 13 of us through the city on the BTS, water transportation and walking tours to the Grand Palace, local markets and the Khao San Road district.
We hired Jean to lead a group back in January 2015, and plan to ask him to guide us again when we return with a new group in January 2018. Thanks YTG and Jean!

Nice tailored trip for wheelchair.
I was not able to really walk due to a surgery in Thailand.
Jean helped me to choosing two hotspots that were possible to visit with a wheelchair.
He pushed me in the wheelchair and carried the (empty) wheelchair if needed.
Very, very nice. He answered all of my difficult questions.
A true guide!
Thank you Jean, I loved our little trip.

We recently visited Bangkok for a 3 night stay, none of us had been there previously, on recommendation from friends who been there in 2016, we booked a guide through, Your Thai Guide.
Their website is so easy to navigate, we made contact through their website, we received a very prompt response, they were so helpful and made the whole process simple. Whilst we had ideas of what to visit, their help and understanding helped us get the most from our limited time in an amazing city.
Our guide on day 1 was Jean, a very knowledgeable guide, we had an excellent day, the guide company had also booked us an evening dinner cruise on a converted rice barge, the arrangements made for us worked like clockwork.
Day 2 we had Nina as our guide, she was great, again, very knowledgeable but also very personable.
The only reason we had differing guides was because we left it late to book, my tip would be, book as soon as possible, everyone we had contact with at Your Thai Guide was very prompt, they could not have been more helpful, we would certainly use them if (when) we are heading back to Bangkok.

One of the best tours we’ve ever taken. Our guide Jean custom tailored our entire day for us we got to see the grand Palace, Wat Pho, took an amazing long boat cruise, had fantastic street food at the floating market (completely safe & clean) and ended the tour in Chinatown.
Best part of the trip: we adapted the tour every step we took and changed our itinerary based on everyone’s moods.
Highly, highly recommended and a great bargain.

I booked our private tour with Your Thai Guide using the website with few days in advance.
Speedy response and at the end of the day we loved our tour and Guide Jean. We spent 2 days with him visiting Bangkok main Wats and Palaces and the old capital.
Despite the heat we were well served.
Jean showed great knowledge and wiliness to explain every question we had.

Jean, the guy who assigned to our trip was very nice person. His expertise as a tour guide was made our trip become wonderful experience. Thanks to him, we enjoy learning background and history of each of temples and Thailand royal family.
We could visit and see any sightseeing spots, but a great tour guide will make the visit more wonderful and fruitful experience. It’s worth to try!!

Great experience thank you Jean!
Even if I had visited Bangkok several times during the last 25 years, I decided to take a guide in Bangkok as my mom has never been in Bangkok before. Our desire was, to see the main sights Grand Palace and Laying Buddha, but also local market which is not too touristy.
Jean impressed with his excellent English but also with his knowledge about Thai history, culture and habits. It was worth it! Thank you Jean.

I contacted this company when I arrived in Bangkok at about 2:30 a.m. By 7:00 a.m., I received an email that they could accommodate my request for a 2 day personal guide. I paid by PayPal, and Jean had the hotel call my room when he arrived.
Jean arrived promptly, and spoke English well. He was very open with his country, and was able to answer my 1,000 questions. He was kind, willing to do everything I wanted, and he looked out for my safety, as well.
The first day, we discussed all the options, and we visited all the major sites in Bangkok. The second day, we visited Ayutthaya, Thailand for the whole day. We took a cab (as it was cheaper than the private car that was offered by the company), and per my request, stopped at numerous ancient temples. We also walked over to where a movie was being filmed, and we fed baby elephants. Jean accompanied me into the bat caves in tiny temples, and gave me honest feedback about his country and all the sites that we visited.
Jean was also very knowledgeable about history, both of his country and of neighboring regions. He was also very tall, so I never lost him in a crowd. He was able to give me important information such as some Thai words, Thai cooking, Thai culture, and even more.
Apart from this company, if you have specific questions on itinerary, please feel free to PM me through TripAdvisor.
I would highly recommend Jean with Thai Guide.

I booked a tour for Grand Palace and Temples in Bangkok with YTG. The booking process was swift.
Jean called me a day before the tour and was right on time the next morning. He was very accommodative as I took some time to make changes to my plan. On the boat trips, he kept explaining about some famous and some not-so-famous buildings and landmarks. He was very knowledgeable and has a deep insight into the history of Thailand.
He had a lot of exciting tales to tell. He was patient while answering my 100000+ never ending questions. Seeing my penchant for shopping, he helped me shop and negotiate the prices for souvenirs on the street markets.
On the way to Wat Arun, he was incredibly helpful and patient as I stopped on almost every second stall to buy or look at local stuff. He helped me getting my backpack (which was getting loose at the strap) fixed at a local shop and was very kind to walk back with me to get the fixed bag.
He’s very intelligent and understands the clients’ needs to rest, have water almost telepathically. He went according to my pace and I never felt rushed.
All in all, it was a fun filled day. If you’re looking to book with YTG, ask for Jean. You won’t regret it. 🙂

We made a last minute reservation to take a day tour and are so glad we did.
We went to a floating market, the Royal Grand Palace, and the Wat Pho temple. Jean provided a wealth of knowledge in context which made the cultural sites so much more fascinating.
We also loved having Jean guide us through the market – we wouldn’t have known what foods to choose and at which vendor otherwise!

Jean was great, we requested that after we do the usual tourist stuff to take us off the beaten path.
He took us to places and neighborhoods he goes by himself, but hasn’t taken any guests with him before.
We had a great time and wish we would have scheduled tour the first day in Bangkok!
Don L. reviews Pudtipong ‘Jean’ Nawasornyuttana
Jean is a fantastic guide. My group of 13 college students and faculty hired Jean for our first day in Bangkok.
My request to him was to primarily make my students feel comfortable in the city. I asked him show them how to use the public transportation system and also asked him to use the system to get us around the city throughout the day.
We hopped on and off the Sky Train, Metro and the River Express taxis like pros. He took us to an awesome food market and gave us an expert tour of the Grand Palace. After the palace tour, he took us to a fun restaurant to relax after a long, hot day.
My students thought our day with Jean was the best! Not only did they enjoy him as a person and knowledgeable guide, he made them feel comfortable with the city. They were confident from that point on.
Thanks Jean!

We had organised a rush tour of only 6 hrs and had quite an extensive list of sites to visit.
Jean was early and we confirmed our day ahead plan. We utilized all forms of transport which was great, and found that we were never rushed given our time frame.
It was a great informative day taking in all of our requirements, and felt very comfortable with Jean and his knowledge.
We would highly recommend this way to see Bangkok if you do not want the hassle of finding your own way around.
