We only had a half a day available to tour so we asked for a personalized tour through the canals to the floating market (about one hour by canal), where the locals shop and eat. We had our own long boat and our guide, Keng, was fantastic – lots of fun and spoke great English.
We really loved that he still had a wonderful sense of joy and wonder on the tour, despite having done it many times. As he said, he always experiences and sees something different on every tour and he loves the connection with the ‘old ways’ of living for his people. The canal tour is peaceful and pretty.
Take your appetite to the markets. All round, a great way to spend the time we had there.
