We only had a short stay in Bangkok, so we wanted to make the most of our time and check off the key items on our must-see list.
That led us to this company – and we were incredibly lucky to have Gwen as our guide for the day. We’d read glowing reviews about her, and now we can say with full confidence that every word is true.
Before we even arrived, Gwen was already in touch, arranging everything and confirming our pick-up from our hotel in Sukhumvit. We thought we were early waiting in the lobby but Gwen was already there, waiting for us with a smile.
She started by walking us to the nearest BTS station, patiently explaining how to buy tickets and plan our routes. From there, she guided us by train to the river taxi dock, where we cruised past Wat Arun and other sights en route to the Grand Palace. All along the way, Gwen shared fascinating facts about Bangkok’s history, culture, and monarchy – her knowledge of the Grand Palace and the Emerald Buddha was truly impressive.
Next was a longtail boat ride through the canal network, which was both eye-opening and humbling. We saw everything from grand riverside homes to modest dwellings, all side by side. Gwen pointed out interesting details, including giant lizards and a stop to feed the fish.
Then it was off to the vibrant flower market, where Gwen’s commentary brought everything to life. We continued to the Temple of the Reclining Buddha before enjoying lunch at one of Gwen’s local favorites, absolutely delicious, and still the best meal we’ve had on our trip so far.
We finished in Chinatown, where once again Gwen’s insights made every turn of the alleyways come alive. Before parting ways, she guided us back on the BTS, ensuring we were confident using the system on our own the next day.
Gwen is simply incredible at what she does. Her warmth, knowledge, and attention to detail made our day unforgettable. She’s an absolute credit to her organization – thank you so much, Gwen, from both of us!
