When on tour in Bangkok, Madame Tussauds is one of those iconic must do experiences. Particularly if you’ve never experienced one! The world-renowned wax museum chain has had a gallery in Bangkok since 2010 and it was only the third Madame Tussauds built in Asia. Madame Tussauds is an excellent family-friendly tour option for families with kids.
This museum isn’t the kind where you view the displays from a distance. Madame Tussauds Bangkok features interactive exhibits that you can pose for photos with. You can touch them, shake hands with them, and even give them a cheeky kiss! Imagine meeting the Queen, kicking a ball with Reynaldo, appearing with a Bollywood princess, practicing Kung Fu with Bruce Lee, or sharing a laugh with Will Smith or Tom Cruise.
The wax figures at Madame Tussauds are expertly crafted over many months by English artists and feature real human hair, each strand is implanted one by one!
Madame Tussauds most recent addition was launched in Bangkok in 2010. With 70 wax figures (and still counting) and around a third of the wax figures being Thai, you’ll be entertained and informed throughout. Allow around 2-3 hours for a visit.

The Royal Room is culturally significant, and you may not touch the figures. It is home to the wax figures of HRH Prince Mahitala Thibed Adulyadej and HRH Princess Srinagarindra, the late parents of His Majesty the King. All of the elements in this room are meticulously planned right down to the tiny details and received Royal endorsement from the Thai Royal family.
The most photographed scene would have to be the re-creation of the Oval Office where many pose by the famous curtains with Barack and Michelle Obama. Somewhat interestingly this scene sits alongside figures of Aung San Suu Kyi and the Dalai Lama.
Walk the red carpet and party with famous Hollywood faces like Johnny Depp, Tom Cruise, Nicole Kidman, Leonardo DiCaprio, Julia Roberts, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.

Madame Tussauds is located in Siam Discovery (one of Bangkok’s most modern and sophisticated shopping malls) so is conveniently close by to some excellent shopping and dining options, and it’s super close to many other Bangkok city attractions.
