We had an amazing day with our private guide, Rika. She was truly wonderful from start to finish!
She picked us up right at our hotel and took us to Wat Arun using the skytrain and hop-on hop-off boat. Along the way, she taught us how to buy public transport tickets and read the maps. As a result, we felt confident exploring Bangkok on our own later that night and the following day.
At Wat Arun, we rented traditional Thai costumes for photos. Rika took beautiful shots and shared fascinating details about the temple’s history, architecture, and artwork. She tied everything back to the period when it was built. Out of all my tours in Thailand, I learned the most on this one—thanks to Rika’s insight and guidance.
We fit so much into the day, but it never felt rushed. With just 2.5 days in Bangkok, we wanted to see as much as possible. Fortunately, Rika planned everything so efficiently that we even had time for snacks, souvenir shopping, and local tips for both Bangkok and our next stop in Chiang Mai.
One of the best parts of this tour was how customizable it was. Since we had already visited a few major sights, Rika helped us adjust the itinerary. She made great suggestions and ensured we didn’t miss any hidden gems.
If you book this tour, wear comfortable walking shoes and lightweight, breathable clothing—it gets hot! For temples, women should cover shoulders and knees. Also, bring cash, water, sunscreen, a hat or umbrella, and a small bag for any items you pick up. Tissues and hand sanitizer are must-haves, too, as many restrooms lack toilet paper or soap.
If you can request Rika as your guide, absolutely do it! She’s fantastic—you’ll learn a lot and have an unforgettable day.
