Meeting Guide Jean

I booked a tour for Grand Palace and Temples in Bangkok with YTG. The booking process was swift.

Jean called me a day before the tour and was right on time the next morning. He was very accommodative as I took some time to make changes to my plan. On the boat trips, he kept explaining about some famous and some not-so-famous buildings and landmarks. He was very knowledgeable and has a deep insight into the history of Thailand.

He had a lot of exciting tales to tell. He was patient while answering my 100000+ never ending questions. Seeing my penchant for shopping, he helped me shop and negotiate the prices for souvenirs on the street markets.

On the way to Wat Arun, he was incredibly helpful and patient as I stopped on almost every second stall to buy or look at local stuff. He helped me getting my backpack (which was getting loose at the strap) fixed at a local shop and was very kind to walk back with me to get the fixed bag.

He’s very intelligent and understands the clients’ needs to rest, have water almost telepathically. He went according to my pace and I never felt rushed.

All in all, it was a fun filled day. If you’re looking to book with YTG, ask for Jean. You won’t regret it. 🙂

We made a last minute reservation to take a day tour and are so glad we did.

We went to a floating market, the Royal Grand Palace, and the Wat Pho temple. Jean provided a wealth of knowledge in context which made the cultural sites so much more fascinating.

We also loved having Jean guide us through the market – we wouldn’t have known what foods to choose and at which vendor otherwise!

Jean was great, we requested that after we do the usual tourist stuff to take us off the beaten path.

He took us to places and neighborhoods he goes by himself, but hasn’t taken any guests with him before.

We had a great time and wish we would have scheduled tour the first day in Bangkok!

Jean is a fantastic guide. My group of 13 college students and faculty hired Jean for our first day in Bangkok.

My request to him was to primarily make my students feel comfortable in the city. I asked him show them how to use the public transportation system and also asked him to use the system to get us around the city throughout the day.

We hopped on and off the Sky Train, Metro and the River Express taxis like pros. He took us to an awesome food market and gave us an expert tour of the Grand Palace. After the palace tour, he took us to a fun restaurant to relax after a long, hot day.

My students thought our day with Jean was the best! Not only did they enjoy him as a person and knowledgeable guide, he made them feel comfortable with the city. They were confident from that point on.

We had organised a rush tour of only 6 hrs and had quite an extensive list of sites to visit.

Jean was early and we confirmed our day ahead plan. We utilized all forms of transport which was great,and found that we were never rushed given our time frame.

It was a great informative day taking in all of our requirements,and felt very comfortable with Jean and his knowledge.

We would highly recommend this way to see Bangkok if you do not want the hassle of finding your own way around.

The response was very quick and we booked a tour to visit the Bridge over the River Kwai, have a trip on the train and visit the Death museum. Pick up was arranged for 8.30 am and our guide was Jean who was very knowledgeable and easy to understand.

The trip was well organised and very enjoyable, the train journey was especially interesting travelling through the countryside over a lot of the original railway. It was good to be able to specify exactly what we wanted to do and not to have to visit places we were not particularly interested in.

We also had a very good driver and a comfortable air conditioned van, the trip was very good value for money. Thank you for a great day.

We organised a 1 day tour for our short stay in Bangkok and had Jean for our tour guide.

What a fabulously knowledgeable young man he was, we learnt so much about the history behind Buddha, the King and so much more. We were collected from our accommodation bang on time and were driven around in a beautifully airconditioned minivan. Water was provided for us and a much appreciated wet cloth after one of the stops. We ate authentic Thai for lunch and ordered what Jean recomended, wow! What a taste sensation.

Our day was a solid 8 hours, and we visited 4 stops all of our choosing. Make sure you have good sturdy shoes, an umbrella for shading or a big floopy hat. There was alot of walking but it is so worth it and you are not rushed at all, it’s all set at your own pace.

Jean was a super guide: relaxed, thorough, well-informed, gracious, and fun. His English was excellent and we didn’t have to “work” to understand him. Without being preachy or books, he was an excellent teacher. He gave us the perfect amount of information at each site that we visited and filled us in with further facts if we asked more questions.

We had a long day and he paced it well so that we saw everything we had wanted to see (at the time). We need lots more time to explore Bangkok.

I don’t think we truly appreciated Jean at the time but we have now had 3 more guides (in Vietnam) and they either couldn’t speak English or didn’t know their local history.
If we return to Bangkok we will call Jean again.

YTG provides great private tour services. The customer liaison, Primm, is very quick in responding to the inquiries and provides useful information.

Our tour guide, Jean, did an excellent job on effectively organizing the day. He is very friendly, patient, calm, and knowledgeable. He provided us lots of cultural and historical texts on the attractions we visited which certainly makes the visits more memorable.

The restaurant he took us for a local lunch was great.

His recommendation of traditional Thai message place is perfect with reasonable prices and wonderful services. He is very customer-oriented. He responded to what we need and did not try to sell any thing more or take us to visit any place more.

He was not pushy at all. We highly recommend Jean!

Jean was simply perfect. We had a long list of things we wanted to do in a short period of time. This was unrealistic, and Jean prepared a plan for the two days that worked really well. This was the first sign that we had a good tour guide and that we needed someone with his expertise to help us.

Jean was polite, calm, easy to get along with, and has a great sense of humour. All of these things made him the perfect guide for us.

We wanted a guide to show us around and take the stress out of the day without feeling like we were being shuffled from one place to the next without any care for what we wanted. In this sense, Jean was excellent for us. The two days ran so smooth for us, and everything was taken care of in advance with enough flexibility for us to change the plan along the way.

We felt like we were being taken around Bangkok by a friend rather than a tour guide, and in my opinion that is what made Jean a true professional. There were so many small things he did that showed us he is not just a great guide but also a great person.

I cannot speak more highly of Jean, and strongly recommend him as a tour guide.

Nous sommes passés par voyage en liberté pour visiter Bnagkok nous avons eu deux supers guides pour visiter le WAT ARUN, WAT PHO le bouddha couché, le WAT PHRA KAEO le bouddha d’émeraude, le grand palais, ballade sur le Chao Phraya en tourist boat et les khlong en bateau longue queue, visite du quartier chinois et déjeuner dans un restaurant typique THAI-CHINOIS.

Avec un guide il n’y a pas de perte de temps, on est orienté, les billets sont pris , les explications sont donnés en français ainsi que toutes les anecdotes et réponses à, nos questions Deux jours exceptionnels un grand merci à Mme Usa qui nous a fait passer d’excellentes visites et un très bon moment, elle est super et a beaucoup d’humour.

I read great reviews about this group and decided to choose them for a one day Bangkok tour which includes all major Wats and Khoasan Road.

Jean made us very comfortable and never rush us during the trip. I would definitely recommend Jean and want to thank him for his help and all the pics he took for us.

Your Thai Guide is the best way to know Thailand.

Your Thai Guide is a great way to see the highlights of Bangkok in a short period of time. I booked the evening I arrived in Bangkok and Jean was waiting in my hotel lobby the next morning at the agreed upon time.

Your Thai Guide had provided a few sample full day itineraries – but Jean built a custom schedule based on the things I was interested in seeing. He provided historical, cultural and religious context and I felt like it was an amazing introduction to both Bangkok and Thailand.

Without Jean I would have only seen some sites, taken some pictures. With Jean I had a great understanding of what I was seeing and how it fit into Thai culture and history. I have been sharing his interesting facts with my travel companions since I left Bangkok!

I had Jean last week as a Thai-English translator and also as a tour guide to visit some areas in Thailand.

He is very fluent in English, and he got the job done!

Our guide Jean was informative and his English was very good.

We did the usual sights Grand Palace, Wat Arun, Reclining Buddah and Jim Thompson house. Guide Jean was at our hotel right on time (10am ) and we were back at our hotel at 6pm, we travelled by taxi, boat and sky train.

Lunch was at a local restaurant and throughout the day Jean never rushed us or pushed us to keep moving. This is a very good service and I would recommend Guide Jean to anyone who would like to use a private guide.
