Hi, I am Kiki. I am an English speaking Thai tour guide with over 8 years of experience revealing the secrets of my country to tourists from around the world. I am a fun and easy-going person who likes to see people enjoy themselves. I love to show the real Thai culture to my guests and am always ready to share a laugh with my newly found friends.

Many things inspired me to be a tour guide but I do think that the day I helped two foreigners at the San-seab boat pier was the moment when I made the decision in my heart to be a tour guide.

One day I went to San-seab boat pier and I saw two foreigners who had become lost because they wanted to go to the Grand Palace but had left the boat at the wrong pier. I offered them advice on how to get to the Grand Palace but also advised them that it was late in the day already and that they may not make it to the Grand Palace before it closed. So, they asked for my recommendation of other places that they could visit nearby and I guided them to visit the Jim Thompson house, which is very close to the San-seab pier. To thank me for my help they gifted me a very nice chocolate before saying goodbye, and from that day I started to think that to be a tour guide may be one of the best things that I can do.

I like every type of tour that I have done but I must admit that my favorite tour is one that includes delicious Thai food. I don’t know why but I truly do love to see people enjoy eating and can not wait to hear them exclaim, “Kiki, the food, it's so good!” - Kiki

Let me tell you more about myself:

My life in Thailand

I grew up in the province of Nakhon Ratchasima, which is more commonly known as Korat among Thai people. I did many different types of work in Korat and in Bangkok that helped me to develop my English language skills. I have worked as a waitress, a telemarketing call center employee, and as a tours and information desk host. Eventually, I moved from Korat to attend university in order to expand my opportunities and improve my English skills.

My own travel experience

I have had the pleasure to visit both Vietnam and China. While we were in Vietnam, my friends and I became lost when we took the wrong bus and ended up in a different area than where we intended to travel. No one on the bus was able to speak English so we decided to make the best of the situation and enjoy a one night stay in a city that was not on our itinerary. We ended up having such a good time that we decided to get ‘lost’ more often on our future trips together.

My professional experience

I have been a licensed tour guide in Thailand for almost three years now. I graduated in 2015 with a degree in Mass Communication from Ramkhamhaeng University in Bangkok and continued my studies by completing the Thai tour guide course from Phitsanulok University in 2017. To continually improve my English language skills I enjoy watching English movies and TV shows. I also learn a lot of English from YouTube because I enjoy watching cooking videos.

My personal goals & Interests

I like to learn and practice to cook on my days off from work. Sometimes I can be a little shy when talking about myself, because I think my life is much the same as everyone else in the world. I enjoy the simple things in life. I am always happy to answer the questions my guests have for me about Thailand and Thai culture.

My personal goals right now are to be successful in my work and to take good care of my mom while saving some money for my own travels. In the future, I would love to visit South Korea and Japan.
